We're an ambitious, family-run company with a reputation for friendly service and high-quality work. Having built our business on subcontracting, we're now looking for a Senior Grounds Maintenance Operative to take on the day-to-day work that keeps our business running smoothly.

This is a hands-on role designed to free up the company owner's time, with scope to guide and support others as the team grows.
The Role:
This is a varied role with a strong focus on grounds maintenance, including:
Hedge cutting (a major part of the role)
Mowing (including sit-on mowers) & strimming
Tree pruning, including fruit trees
Weed spraying (training provided with PA6AW certificate)
Planting hedges/trees (occasional)
Supporting our landscaping team when required – no landscaping experience needed, just a willingness to assist
Most of the time you'll be carrying out the work yourself. However, you may also be expected to work alongside others, managing tasks on site, and passing on your knowledge as the company grows.
Hours: 7:45am – 4.45pm
Driving Requirements:
Full UK driving licence essential
Company van provided
Insurance usually covers 25+, but under 25s may apply
Loss of licence or 6+ points may end employment
What We're Looking For:
Minimum 2 years' experience in grounds maintenance
Leadership or managerial experience is preferable but not essential – if you haven't led a team before but you're organised and reliable, we still want to hear from you
Experience teaching or guiding others on site is a bonus
Comfortable working at height (up to 16ft tripod ladders)
Reliable, punctual, and professional (uniform provided)
Polite and confident with customers
Hard-working and willing to work in all weather
Open to learning new skills and taking training opportunities
Chainsaw licence (CS30/31 or equivalent) is preferable – and any extra qualifications you hold will be recognised and reflected in your salary
We also have fencing teams out frequently. If you have fencing experience and enjoy that type of work, this could become a bigger part of your role depending on your skills and interests.

Our recruitment process is simple:
