Lead the blueprint for delivery on a major MOD submarine programme
At a critical point in one of the UK’s most sensitive defence programmes, this role offers a rare chance to take the lead in shaping how delivery will work—before the build even begins.
This is not about firefighting an existing project. It is about designing a delivery model that will stand the test of time. You will be responsible for planning, costing and defining the organisational design of a complex programme within the nuclear submarine space.
It is the concept phase. There is room for leadership. For clarity. For setting direction.
You’ll work independently and collaboratively, trusted to engage with senior stakeholders across both industry and government. You’ll help define not just how the project is structured, but how delivery gets done.
The work ahead
1. Lead the definition of delivery workstreams
2. Produce structured plans, cost models and delivery documentation
3. Interface with key client and supplier stakeholders
4. Translate strategic goals into actionable organisational plans
5. Support a complex and politically sensitive programme with lasting impact
What you’ll need
6. A strong foundation in engineering or similar technical discipline (degree essential)
7. Extensive MOD project experience, ideally with a focus on naval or submarine domains
8. Experience managing complex programmes or large workstreams
9. A consultancy mindset: structured thinking, confident communication and delivery focus
10. The credibility to work closely with senior stakeholders in a defence environment
