About Axis
Axis Therapy & Performance is a high-standard, education-driven, people-first health company. We deliver expert physical therapy powered by human connection.
Our mission is to refine the way people move by raising the standard of care, developing exceptional clinicians, and creating a consistent, trust-based client experience.
At Axis, leadership is behavioural, not positional. Titles come with responsibility, impact, and accountability.
We are a people-first organization, and we work hard to protect that. Our clinicians are never just numbers on a schedule. We invest in real connection, mutual respect, and a fun, professional environment where people thrive and take pride in the team they're part of. Our admin team is just as strong as our clinicians, and our leadership team genuinely cares about the people doing the work.
The Role
The Lead Therapist (LT) is a clinical leadership role that supports the Clinic Director in protecting and elevating clinical standards while contributing to the overall strength and performance of the clinic.
This role is for clinicians who care about:
* Raising the bar on clinical quality
* Developing other therapists
* Holding standards consistently
* Helping build a strong, sustainable clinic, not just a strong personal caseload
This is a clinical leadership role first. It is not a management or administrative role.
What You'll Be Responsible For
Clinical Quality & Coaching
* Observe therapist treatment, documentation, and planning patterns
* Coach therapists on:
o Treatment plan clarity
o Progression and frequency
o Client education and confidence
* Address clinical gaps early, before they escalated
Lifestyle Therapy
* Support consistent, ethical long-term care conversations
* Reinforce Axis standards around maintenance and proactive care
* Challenge under-serving and over-serving when clinically relevant
Clinic Performance Support
* Understand how therapist behaviours influence retention, rebooking, plan adherence, and long-term care adoption
* Coach in ways that support strong plans of care and confident recommendations
* Surface behaviour patterns that may be impacting clinic performance
* Participate in clinic initiatives aimed at improving client continuity and long-term outcomes
Team & Culture Impact
* Model Axis clinical standards in your own practice
* Support onboarding and development of new therapists
* Act as a visible clinical resource and standard bearer
How You Work With Leadership
* You report to the Clinic Director
* You support clinic leadership rather than replace it
* You coach behaviours; the CD owns performance and outcomes
* You escalte clinical red flags when standards are at risk
What Success Looks Like
* Therapists are clearer, more confident, and more consistent
* Clinical quality issues are identified early
* Treatment plans and education improve across the clinic
* The clinic maintains a high standard of care without constant intervention
* Therapist behaviours increasingly support strong retention and long-term care
Who This Role Is For
This role is a strong fit if you:
* Care deeply about quality of care and clinical standards
* Are comfortable giving and receiving direct feedback
* Enjoy helping others improve their craft
* Think beyond your own caseload
* Take pride in contributing to the growth and strength of the clinic
* Want to grow as a clinical leader
Who This Role Is Not For
This role is not a fit if you:
* Prefer to avoid hard conversations
* Want a title without responsibility
* See leadership as authority rather than service
* Want a purely mentorship or technique-only role
* Are uncomfortable tying clinical behaviour to clinic performance
* Want management without accountability
