Job description
Reporting to the VP Operations, the selected candidate's main responsibilities will be to contribute to the ideation, implementation and maintenance of the global manufacturing vision at Exo-s .
Working closely with plant engineering and product development, the incumbent will manage teams dedicated to tooling development, automation & robotics, reliability as well as process innovation in order to:
1. Improve the efficiency of communication and collaboration between said groups.
2. Define a standard development structure for optimal manufacturing procedures.
3. Unify plant requirements and define best practices.
4. Disseminate technological improvements and knowledge across all plants.
5. Reduce maintenance time and improve production efficiency.
Wanted profile
Technical yet highly relational, this position requires a certain ease in production, tooling and automation, but above all a pleasure in bringing together a team that is currently disparate.
6. Bachelor's degree in engineering, with a specialization in robotics or a relevant field, or equivalent experience.
7. More than 5 years' experience in manufacturing.
8. Technical experience in automation and tooling (a definite asset).
9. Knowledge of the plastics industry, processes and equipment (blow molding and injection molding).
10. Knowledge of continuous improvement tools.
11. Team player; Mobilizer; Recognized for leadership.
12. Excellent communicator.
13. Recognized for planning and organizational skills.
14. Expertise in problem solving and project management.
15. Negotiating and influencing skills.
16. Comfortable with MS Office tools, experience with ERP and project management systems.
17. English (Spanish and French are definite assets).
18. Self-motivated.
19. Available to travel.
20. Knowledge of ISO IATF 16949 standards (an asset).
Responsibilities
21. Formulate and deploy a common vision within the teams he/she manages.
22. Implement/update a standard for tooling and automation development.
23. Build a decision-making matrix for automation equipment choices.
24. Internalize as many services as possible to meet our cost-competitive manufacturing needs.
25. Document projects to better understand risks, contingency plan options and lessons learned.
26. Carry out risk analysis for all new robotic equipment and mechanical/electrical/programming modifications in order to implement a robotics safety standard.
27. Oversee the management of deadlines and costs during the design, manufacturing and production phases.
28. Carry out feasibility and financial analyses on various global projects.
29. Support all departments in continuous improvement projects.
30. Improve equipment efficiency and durability.
31. Lead technical and design meetings, training sessions and problem-solving teams (Kaizen, A3, etc.).
32. Communicate, negotiate and follow up with external suppliers.
33. Provide support to production teams even after equipment has been validated.
34. Ensure competitiveness of service in comparison with external market.
