The Role
Manage the department, ensuring that all plant and equipment are safely run to their optimum level, producing quality products in line with Master Production Schedule expectations and manufacturing targets. Ensure that all personnel within the department are fully trained and adhere to all company policies and procedures at all times.
Key Responsibilities
Manage all shift personnel and ensure that they carry out their responsibilities in line with Newly Weds Foods health and safety and hygiene standards.
Responsible for ensuring that all Blend Staff are adequately trained on plant, machinery, systems, procedures, personnel and health and safety practices ensuring records are maintained.
Manage and resolve any technical or quality issues in a timely manner, working across departments to identify root cause and effective corrective actions.
Ensure all manufacturing documentation is completed in an orderly, professional, timely manner.
Manage department to ensure production volumes and target dates are achieved in line with the Master Production Schedule ensuring Corporate Manufacturing Standards are adhered to.
Liaise and with Maintenance Supervisor to ensure that maintenance activities are prioritised ensuring downtime targets are achieved.
Manage department to ensure that all I.T Systems issues are reported via the IT Helpdesk, ensuring priority issues are managed effectively and efficiently to minimise impact on Manufacturing.
To assume overall responsibility for Plant in the absence of the Plant Manager.
Person Specification
At least 5 years production management experience.
Experience of running a fast paced Production team with larger teams.
Understanding of Health & Safety and Hygiene procedures.
High-quality knowledge on machinery and fork-lift equipment used within manufacturing environment.
Confident leader and self-starter with good communication skills.
Excellent analytical and interpersonal skills.
