Location
We have two exciting Asset Planning Sponsor opportunities: one based in the East Coast, and the other covering the Doncaster/Selby area.
Work type
Permanent, 37 hours per week, Monday to Friday.
Responsibilities
* Take ownership of your area (East Coast or Doncaster and Selby) and work with operational teams to identify asset risks and opportunities, ensuring the business need aligns with strategic, operational and regulatory drivers.
* Lead investigations into asset performance issues or opportunities and propose notional solutions where appropriate.
* Drive Concept and Definition phases, ensuring all solution options are fully explored, prioritising TOTEX hierarchy and balancing OPEX, CAPEX, carbon and resilience.
* Own the business case, articulating why the selected solution meets the business need and securing required project funding.
* Promote innovation to achieve cost and carbon reductions while ensuring compliance with technical and safety standards through the Engineering Design Assurance process.
* Be accountable for benefits delivery, ensuring operational teams understand project scope and outcomes, and that completed assets are safe, reliable and fit for purpose.
* Lead responsibilities within the end-to-end process, including creation of business need/solution in EDA, scope setting, approvals (Gate 1-4), risk understanding, escalation management and partnership with CPT throughout the lifecycle.
* Support project delivery through risk mitigation, change agreement, technical support where required, and involvement in reviews, commissioning, handback, snagging and post completion activities.
Qualifications
* Strong engineering and process knowledge of the relevant asset base, supported by understanding of engineering specifications, design guidance and site process safety (including Hazard Studies).
* Experience in risk management (including IAM principles) and ability to carry out root cause analysis.
* Understanding of Performance Commitments and DMF systems, including cost models, service measures and investment criteria.
* Strong influencing, negotiating, interpersonal and communication skills.
* Knowledge of the Delivery End to End Process and use of the Project Management Plan, with a well organised and methodical approach.
* Good IT skills and a full driving licence.
Preferred qualifications
* CDM awareness/SMSTS Construction to enable development of safety culture and competence in completing PCI.
* NEBOSH.
* Experience with site construction activities.
