Glencore Industrial Assets UK Limited is seeking an experienced HR Business Partner to provide strategic and operational HR support to Glencore Copper and the newly established Capital Projects Group. This role will be based in our Maidenhead office and will play a key part in aligning HR strategies with Glencore Copper’s global business goals while ensuring compliance, talent management, and a positive employee experience.
Our Team
The HR Business Partner will support Glencore Copper’s UK-based office and the Capital Projects Group. The role will collaborate closely with internal HR and business stakeholders across global teams to deliver aligned, high-impact HR solutions that support business success and sustainable performance.
The Opportunity
The HR Business Partner is responsible for providing comprehensive HR support, ensuring value through talent management, employee relations, compliance, learning and development, and the execution of strategic HR initiatives aligned with Glencore’s business objectives.
Key Responsibilities
* Oversee the full employee lifecycle: recruitment, onboarding, development, and offboarding.
* Manage employee relations, resolve workplace issues, and promote a positive culture.
* Deliver practical, business-aligned HR solutions.
* Develop and maintain HR policies and procedures to reflect best practices and regulatory requirements.
* Lead or support organisational change and transformation initiatives.
* Identify and coordinate training and development opportunities.
* Serve as a trusted advisor to employees and managers for HR-related matters.
* Drive the performance management process: goal setting, evaluations, and feedback.
* Partner with Talent Acquisition to develop recruitment strategies and ensure top talent is hired.
* Ensure HR practices comply with UK employment laws and internal policies.
Operating Context
* Office-based role in Maidenhead, UK.
* Close interaction with Glencore Copper leadership and project teams.
* Regular engagement with global HR colleagues and local suppliers.
* Exposure to complex, cross-border HR activities within a global mining business.
* Autonomous responsibility for HR delivery within the UK office and Capital Projects context.
Job Relationships and Structure
* Reports to: Head of HR – Copper Assets
* Other Key Relationships: Head of HR – Copper Assets, Capital Projects Group, Hiring Managers, Talent Acquisition Team, Employees & Managers, Global HR Teams, Local Suppliers
Your Training, Skills & Expertise
* Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
* HR certifications (CIPD, SHRM, etc.) are advantageous.
* Minimum 10 years of HR Business Partner experience in the UK.
* Strong understanding of UK employment laws and HR best practices.
* Experience working in or with the mining sector preferred.
* Global HR experience is essential.
* Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
* Integrity and professionalism in handling confidential matters.
* Strategic thinking and sound decision-making abilities.
* Excellent organisation and attention to detail.
* Proficiency in HRIS systems and HR tools.
* Ability to collaborate across geographies and teams.
* Results-driven and proactive.
* Solid understanding of performance management and employee relations.
* Effective change management skills.
* Strong knowledge of compliance and HR policy frameworks.
