Overview
We are seeking a Senior IT Service Manager to join the Digital Payment Services team at DWP Digital. You will implement and evolve the service management strategy across platforms and products powering payments to millions of people. DWP Digital uses fresh ideas and leading-edge technology to build digital solutions used by nearly every person in the UK, every day and at key moments in their lives. DWP is the UK\u2019s largest government department, paying over £195bn a year to support and empower millions of people. This is a Live Service role focused on ensuring quality, availability, performance and process maturity aligned to business outcomes.
Responsibilities
* Implement and evolve the service management strategy across platforms and products to support payments to millions of people.
* Manage live services across multiple channels or a portfolio of products/services to ensure quality, availability, performance and process maturity aligned to business outcomes.
* Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders to ensure new and changed products/services are sufficiently and safely supported into live service while meeting customer expectations.
* Maintain high standards of availability, performance and process maturity while removing blockers, fostering a culture of learning and transparency, and empowering multidisciplinary teams.
* Be hands-on in managing services within Digital Payment Services and support onboarding of emerging payment applications, from private beta through to live deployment.
Qualifications
* Ability to identify, understand and implement payment contingencies where necessary.
* Extensive knowledge and proven track record of understanding and managing enterprise-level digital products and critical services in a live environment.
* Strong working knowledge, capability and practical experience of service lifecycle for technologies and solutions in a large-scale IT environment.
* Demonstrable experience of Service Management Framework, e.g., ITIL.
* Working knowledge and understanding of service management within a UK payments landscape, including BACS and Faster Payment journeys.
Location and Working Arrangements
Location: You will join one of the digital hubs in Birmingham, Blackpool, Leeds, Manchester, Newcastle-upon-Tyne or Sheffield, whichever is most convenient for you.
Hybrid Working: We operate a hybrid model 10 you\'ll spend some time working at home and some time collaborating in a hub.
Compensation and Benefits
Pay: £55,557 per year.
Pension: Civil Service pension with employer contributions worth 28.97% (up to £16,094 per year).
Holidays: 26 days to 31 days per year, plus up to 3 extra days off per month on flexi-time, plus public holidays.
