We are seeking a passionate and motivated Health and Social Care Assessor to join our Adult Skills team. In this role, you will support adult learners studying Health and Social Care and related qualifications, guiding them through to successful completion and progression.
You will assess learner work, track progress, deliver engaging tutorials, and ensure high standards of quality and compliance are met. This is an excellent opportunity for an assessor who is committed to inclusive education and making a positive difference in the local community.
Essential Criteria
1. A relevant Health and Social Care qualification (degree level or equivalent)
2. A recognised teaching or assessing qualification, or willingness to work towards one
3. Minimum Level 2 Maths and English
4. Strong knowledge of Health and Social Care qualifications and quality frameworks
5. Excellent communication and organisational skills, with the ability to support diverse learners
Key Responsibilities
6. Assess and support learners on Health and Social Care and related programmes, primarily delivered online
7. Track learner progress, attendance and achievement, maintaining accurate and timely records
8. Provide constructive feedback, guidance and personalised support to help learners succeed
9. Contribute to curriculum development, quality assurance and internal verification processes
10. Deliver high-quality tutorials using a range of digital tools and inclusive teaching approaches
11. Work collaboratively with curriculum teams and external stakeholders to support learner outcomes
12. Promote safeguarding, equality and diversity across all aspects of the role
13. Support learner recruitment, enrolment and promotional activities where required

Let’s Teach The LET’s teach programme supports new members of teaching staff in terms of college systems and key teaching and learning areas including new staff lesson visits and postcard peeps. Each new member of staff has an allocated Lead Practitioner who works closely with them throughout the programme.
Let’s Bloom
The LET’s Bloom Programme aims to connect our experienced and qualified teachers to share best practice and support continued risk-taking as we continue to add depth to our teaching craft. Teachers volunteer on this one year programme, working closely with the Learning Enhancement Team, capturing their experimentation in a journal.
