Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled and passionate Sous Chef to join our team.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in busy high quality restaurant operations, with a commitment to maintaining high standards of food safety and quality. As a Sous Chef, you will assist the Head Chef in managing kitchen operations, ensuring that all dishes are prepared to perfection while leading and mentoring kitchen staff.
Duties
* Assist in the preparation and cooking of meals, ensuring adherence to recipes and presentation standards.
* Maintain high standards of food safety and hygiene in accordance with health regulations.
* Help manage kitchen staff, providing training and guidance to ensure efficient workflow and teamwork.
* Collaborate with the Head Chef to develop new menu items and seasonal offerings.
* Oversee inventory management, including ordering supplies and minimising waste.
* Ensure that all kitchen equipment is properly maintained and cleaned.
* Support the Head Chef in daily operations, including staff scheduling and performance evaluations.
* Foster a positive working environment that promotes hospitality and teamwork.
Qualifications
* Proven experience as a Sous Chef or in a similar culinary role within a restaurant setting.
* Strong knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices in the kitchen.
* Excellent culinary skills with a passion for food production and creativity in menu planning.
* Demonstrated leadership abilities with experience in team management.
* Ability to work efficiently under pressure while maintaining attention to detail.
* Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with team members.
* A relevant culinary qualification is preferred but not essential for candidates with significant experience.
