Job Title: Business Engagement Executive
Location: Rotherham (with Regional Travel)
Salary: £28,000 – £35,000 Per Annum (Plus Annual Bonus)
Hours: 09:00 – 17:00
Working Pattern: Monday – Friday

The Role
The Business Engagement Executive is a relationship-focused role designed to build meaningful, long-term connections with prospective customers and partners. Rather than a traditional sales position, this role centres on understanding organisations, their challenges and ambitions, and exploring opportunities to work together in the future primarily through research and engagement and attendance at events.
You will profile and engage with target customers through a programme of events held throughout the year. These include educational sessions, round-table discussions and more informal social events. Your approach will be consultative, authentic and people-centric, positioning the business as a trusted expert in IT rather than taking a transactional sales approach.
The role reports into the Sales Director and is supported by a dedicated marketing function, ensuring strong alignment between relationship-building activity, brand presence and company growth objectives.
Key Responsibilities
7. Profile and identify target organisations aligned with the company’s values and services
8. Build and nurture relationships with prospective customers and partners in a non-sales, consultative manner
9. Represent the company at a range of events, including educational workshops, round tables and networking/social events
10. Own the end-to-end definition, planning, and execution of some events, ensuring seamless delivery and alignment with business goals.
11. Engage customers in meaningful conversations to understand their business needs, challenges and goals
12. Work closely with the Sales Director to identify potential partnership and collaboration opportunities
13. Collaborate with the marketing team to ensure consistent messaging and effective event engagement. Following up with marketing engagement and working with the for content creation ideas for social media
14. Maintain accurate records of engagement activity and relationship development
15. Act as a brand ambassador, promoting the company’s values and expertise within the local and regional business community
Skills and Experience
16. Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills
17. Comfortable engaging with senior stakeholders across a variety of sectors
18. Confident networker with a natural, authentic communication style
19. Ability to build trust and credibility without a hard-sell approach
20. Organised and self-motivated, with the ability to manage multiple relationships simultaneously
21. An interest in technology and how IT can support business growth and efficiency
22. Previous experience in partnerships, account management, business development or relationship-led roles is desirable, but not essential
