Before and After School Club Manager – Orpington

We are currently recruiting on behalf of a trusted client for a Before and After School Club Manager based in Orpington. This is an exciting and rewarding opportunity for someone with experience in childcare and team leadership who is looking to step into a fulfilling management role.
As Club Manager, you will be responsible for the overall running of the before and after school provision, including managing a team of staff and ensuring the wellbeing, safety, and engagement of all children aged 4–11 who attend the club.
Key Duties & Responsibilities:
Delivering High-Quality Provision
1. Lead the daily operations of the before and after school club
2. Oversee and motivate a team of playworkers and supervisors
3. Provide engaging, age-appropriate activities in a safe and inclusive environment
4. Liaise regularly with parents, school staff, and the SENCO
5. Act as the key safeguarding point of contact within the setting
Management & Administration
6. Manage online booking, registers, and payment systems (e.g. Schoolcomms)
7. Organise staff schedules and cover for both term-time and holiday provision
8. Order supplies and maintain resource stock levels
9. Oversee health and safety, risk assessments, and incident reporting
10. Uphold policies and procedures, ensuring compliance with safeguarding and data protection
11. Maintain accurate records including staff rotas, attendance, and financial logs
12. Monitor and manage waiting lists and club capacity
13. Conduct regular evaluations and implement improvements
Staff Leadership
14. Supervise, support, and appraise all club staff
15. Monitor staff qualifications and arrange necessary training (First Aid, Food Hygiene, Safeguarding, etc.)
16. Participate in recruitment and induction of new staff
17. Maintain effective communication and promote a positive working environment
Requirements:
Essential:
18. NVQ Level 3 in Childcare/Playwork (or currently working towards)
19. Recent experience working with children aged 4–11
20. Supervisory or management experience in a childcare or club setting
21. Excellent communication, planning, and organisational skills
22. Sound knowledge of safeguarding, inclusion, and equal opportunities
23. First Aid certification
24. Strong IT skills including MS Word, Publisher, Excel, and email systems
Desirable:
25. Food Hygiene qualification
26. Experience using administration systems (e.g. booking or payment portals)
