We are seeking an experienced Senior Project Manager from a civils construction background to lead the successful delivery of major infrastructure and civil engineering projects. The role requires full responsibility for project planning, commercial performance, health & safety, and client relationships, ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.Key ResponsibilitiesProject DeliveryTake full ownership of multiple or large-scale civil engineering projects from pre-construction through to handoverDevelop and manage project programmes, budgets, and resource plansEnsure works are delivered in line with contract requirements, specifications, and drawingsManage project risks, opportunities, and change control processesCommercial & ContractualOversee cost control, forecasting, and reporting in conjunction with commercial teamsManage variations, valuations, and final accountsEnsure compliance with contract conditions (NEC / JCT experience preferred)Health, Safety & QualityLead and promote a strong health & safety culture across all sitesEnsure compliance with all HSEQ policies, RAMS, and statutory requirementsDrive quality assurance processes and ensure right-first-time deliveryStakeholder ManagementAct as the main point of contact for clients, consultants, subcontractors, and internal teamsBuild and maintain strong client relationships to support repeat businessChair progress meetings and provide clear, accurate reporting to senior managementLeadership & Team ManagementLead, mentor, and develop Project Managers, Site Managers, and EngineersCoordinate subcontractors and suppliers to ensure efficient site operationsDrive performance, accountability, and continuous improvementProject Experience (Desirable)Highways & infrastructureGroundworks & earthworksUtilities (water, gas, power)Drainage & deep drainageStructures & reinforced concreteSkills & Experience RequiredProven experience as a Senior Project Manager or Project Manager within civils constructionStrong background with a civil engineering contractor or main contractorExcellent knowledge of construction methodologies and sequencingStrong commercial and contractual awarenessAbility to manage multiple stakeholders and complex programmesExcellent leadership, communication, and organisational skillsQualificationsHNC / HND / Degree in Civil Engineering or Construction Management (preferred)SMSTS (essential)CSCS (Black or Gold preferred)First Aid at WorkNEC contract experience (highly desirable)APM / PMP qualification (advantageous)
