At TOMRA our reverse vending machines help millions of people recycle every day – and as we continue to grow across the UK, we’re looking for an experienced Lead Field Service Engineer to help install and keep our systems running at their best.
This is a hands‑on, field‑based role with real variety, responsibility, and the opportunity to support and mentor others as our UK service team scales.
As a Lead Field Service Engineer, you’ll be the face of TOMRA at customer sites across the UK. You’ll install, maintain, and repair our reverse vending machines, ensuring excellent uptime and customer experience. Once fully trained, you’ll also play a key role in supporting and onboarding new technicians, acting as a technical escalation point within the team.
The role involves regular UK travel, with overnight stays and visits to service hubs or offices.
You’ll take ownership of the preparation and readiness of TOMRA machines across your region, acting as the key link between field teams, operations, and third‑party logistics (3PL) partner. A big part of the role is building capability within the partner, embedding simple and repeatable processes, and ensuring machines are correctly configured, tested, and ready for smooth installation.
Alongside this, you’ll work hands‑on with installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting in the field, supporting engineers, improving processes, and helping scale a consistent, high‑quality operating model as the UK rollout grows.
Shift or weekend work may be required as the service organisation continues to expand.
What we’re looking for
Experience with reverse vending machines or similar automated equipment is an advantage, but not essential – full training will be provided.
Previous experience supporting or training others is also beneficial.
What do you get from joining TOMRA?
Deadline for applications is Sunday 19th April.
