We are working exclusively with your Investment Management client to find an Executive Business Development Manager.

Our client is reshaping how financial advisers access and deliver tax-efficient investment solutions. With a well-established tax distribution service spanning five core products, they enable advisers to offer smarter, more compliant strategies that support long-term client outcomes.
They’re now hiring an external salesperson to lead growth across the Cotswolds, South Wales, and the South West. Backed by a high-performing team and a business investing in its next phase of expansion, this role offers front-loaded, uncapped earning potential and real autonomy.
Ideal candidates will bring a consultative sales approach and position themselves as expert advisers in tax distribution, capable of holding credible, peer-to-peer conversations with financial planners and wealth managers. This is a relationship-led role within a fast-moving, entrepreneurial team.

* £915m AUM and currently on their 5-year journey to grow to £5bn AUM - this is an opportunity to play a pivotal role in shaping their Tax Distribution arm.
* Selling a suite of five structured tax-efficient investment products, including a market-leading IHT solution known for its exceptional sales support and client servicing, a highly regarded tech-focused venture offering, and a flexible IHT product that enables cash withdrawals in a matter of weeks.
* Reporting into the Head of Tax who has been in the business for 5 years and runs a team of 8 Business Development Managers.
* Realistic target of £15m - £20m AUM which accounts for your territory size. Currently 5 out of 8 members of the team are achieving over target!

The Role:
* Responsible for generating new relationships with Financial Advisers and Wealth Managers across the Cotswolds, South Wales, and the South West. The current strategy includes leveraging FCA data and outreach through calls, emails, and events - you’ll need to be proactive and confident in driving your own business development. You have a target of 10 new meetings per week.
* Maintain and grow monthly tax inflows of £800k+, with an annualised target of £15m+.
* Build strong, peer-level relationships with business owners and financial planning firms by positioning yourself as a trusted expert in tax-efficient investments - helping advisers understand how to integrate the tax proposition into their broader client strategy.
* Accurately document all adviser interactions, opportunities, and next steps in the CRM, using structured fact finds to capture existing tax strategies, preferences, and suitability for the product suite - ensuring visibility, compliance, and a consistent sales process. SMCR needs to be followed each year.
* Collaborate with your dedicated Internal Business Development Manager (IBDM) and the wider support team to manage adviser queries and maintain high service standards.
* Attend regional and national events, seminars, and due diligence meetings with both prospective and existing partner firms.
* Engage in regular 1:1s with the Head of Tax to review performance, test product knowledge, and plan activity that supports revenue targets.
* Follow up on all marketing-qualified leads (MQLs), events, and seminar attendees with documented outcomes and feedback.
* Maintain a solid understanding of wider business functions - such as marketing, compliance, risk, and operations - to collaborate effectively and identify cross-selling opportunities, including referring prospects to colleagues in other product areas. You will be referring 2 leads per quarter.
Requirements:
* Minimum of 5 years’ experience in tax planning, tax-efficient investments, or closely related areas of financial services, with a consistent track record of hitting or exceeding business development targets.
* Strong academic background in financial services, either through education or experience.
* Strong understanding of the tax advisory landscape, with the ability to hold credible, peer-to-peer conversations around EIS, VCT, IHT, and related products.
* Commercially driven and data-literate, able to interpret KPIs and MI, manage a growing pipeline, and maintain activity levels with the support of an Internal BDM and wider team.
* Minimum of 3 years’ experience using CRM systems and confident working across Microsoft Office tools to support planning, reporting, and adviser engagement.
* Resilient self-starter with excellent communication and presentation skills, capable of building trust with financial advisers and contributing positively to a high-integrity, growth-focused culture.
* Salary from £100k - £120k base x 2 OTE.
