We are looking for an enthusiastic and organised person to join our client’s team that are a manufacturer of house building and DIY products as a Trainee Buyer.

Role and Responsibilities:
You are responsible for the procurement of materials and providing purchasing support to the wider business. This is an excellent opportunity to grow and develop within the Company and become a valued member of the purchasing team. Your day-to-day duties will include, but are not limited to:
* Purchasing of raw materials, finished goods, packaging and other materials
* Liaise with suppliers on a daily basis
* Negotiating purchase prices and contracts with suppliers
* Comply with a “just-in-time” stock strategy, ensuring an efficient stock level over all sites
* Creation of purchase orders
* Carry out general administrative responsibilities within the department
* Building and maintaining relationships with suppliers
* Create reports of suppliers, based on quality, timeliness and price
* Schedule of deliveries to ensure adequate stock levels, in line with purchasing strategy
* Deal with any purchase order/invoice issues
* Research alternative suppliers and competitor prices
* Learn to budget and forecast accurately
* Any other ad hoc duties
Qualifications, Education and Skills Requirements:
* Good time management skills, as you may have multiple tasks and issues happening concurrently
* Strong communication skills to effectively communicate with suppliers, managers and colleagues
* Excellent diagnostic and problem-solving skills to identify issues and effectively deal with them
* Ability to build strong working relationships both internally and externally
* Excellent attention to detail
* Comfort in making key decisions and the ability to work in a high-pressure environment
