Location – Coleraine
Contract – Full-time, permanent
Hours – Sunday-Thursday 2pm - 10pm.
Job summary:
This rounded role will liaise with and support other departments, plan daily deliveries to sub- depots, work with 3PL partners and plan & coordinate multi-drop routes with drivers, across the Island of Ireland and Scotland. Main duties & responsibilities:
* Plan and manage drivers and vehicles to allocated routes and loads.
* Programme and schedule orders for delivery throughout designated areas and generate relevant documentation.
* Issue daily instructions to drivers and communicate nature of work.
* Maintain high levels of customer satisfaction.
* Ensure maximum use of resources in a cost-effective manner – Proactively work to ensure timely deliveries and logical delivery schedules.
* Minimise fuel costs and maximise driver hours.
* Work to identify areas of cost saving.
* Focus on efficiency to maximise fleet utilisation.
* Debrief drivers.
* Ensure WTD and EU Tachograph requirements adhered to.
* Keep up to date with current legislation regarding Road Haulage regulations.
* Update company systems to ensure efficient operations.
* Manage Query Management System in line with KPI’s.
* Bring to the attention of the Senior Managers any complaints from both customers, and drivers.
* Liaise with and action requests from the Customer Service team, Drivers, Sales and 3PL partners.
Essential criteria:
* Supervisory experience within a Transport department, in a high volume/turnover business.
* Significant demonstratable experience with route planning software for example: Roadnet, Paragon, or Max Optra.
* Considerable demonstratable experience with telematics software such as Teletrac, Quartix or Orbcom.
* The ability to communicate well at all levels within the business.
* The confidence to make decisions under pressure, and to a tight timescale.
* A high level of attention to detail.
* Willingness to manage their own time to achieve daily targets.
* Customer focused team player.
* Have excellent problem solving, analytical and organizational skills.
* First-rate knowledge of Microsoft office packages with a focus on Excel.
* Show flexibility in relation to duties and responsibilities with a willingness to learn and develop.
Desirable criteria
* 3rd level qualification in Business or a relevant discipline.
* Transport manager CPC Road Haulage
* Proven experience using Power BI and an ability to build reports.
* Category B Licence
