Job Description
Are you an experienced
Multi-skilled Engineer
looking for a new challenge? Look no further Matthew Walker Puddings, part of Valeo Foods UK, a manufacturer of some of the UK's best loved snacks and confectionery, is looking for a new member of the team
Key Responsibilities
* Diagnose and repair electrical and mechanical faults across site equipment.
* Perform planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and corrective tasks using the CMMS system.
* Support production teams with technical expertise during breakdowns and changeovers.
* Maintain compliance with site standards including PSSR, LOLER, Legionella, and GMP.
* Monitor and manage utilities including boilers, compressors, and effluent systems.
* Assist with installation and commissioning of new equipment and upgrades.
* Liaise with contractors and issue permits to work (PTW) as required.
* Record accurate maintenance data and complete documentation to audit-ready standards.
* Contribute to continuous improvement (CI) initiatives and root cause analysis (RCA).
* Support and mentor apprentices and junior engineers.
Qualifications
* Recognised Engineering Qualification (e.g., HNC, BTEC, NVQ Level 3 or above).
* Experience in FMCG or food manufacturing environments.
* Strong fault-finding skills in both electrical and mechanical disciplines.
* Familiarity with compliance systems (e.g., PPMs, risk assessments, water testing).
* Computer literate (CMMS, Microsoft Office).
