About the team and the role

As the Product and Proposition Lead, you will be looked to as the expert in your area and take responsibility across the Product Team to ensure the E2E experience is aligned, understood, considered and optimised. You will be expected to define and shape the future propositions for Ocado Retail across your defined domain and wider onsite experience, shaping the future of the product to meet the needs of our customers and our business strategic goals. Act as the bridge between the technical world of Group Product and the business world of Ocado Retail


What you’ll do

As the Product & Proposition Lead across Customer and Trading, you will be responsible for setting the strategy for the product proposition and collaborating across other domains to support, and lead the go to market plans for all propositions across total customer, and wider into the business where necessary.

These are in addition to the activities involved in managing your domain:
1. Focusing, managing and maximising the success of proposition definition for your domain, bringing together business strategy, commercial landscape, customer research, performance metrics and behavioural data in order to identify high impact product opportunities that deliver best outcomes for our customers.
2. Lead development scoping and delivery with technical developers and UX specialists to make these ideas a reality.
3. Lead creation of business cases for future development, supporting prioritisation to deliver a market leading customer experience that delivers commercial results, working closely with Ocado Group.
4. Work across Insight, UX, CRO, Ecommerce and Group teams to define customer and business requirements.
5. Owner of feature delivery onto the site, ensuring any feature delivers to expectations and launches as planned, including ongoing ‘Spill The Beans’ Slack channel feedback management.
6. Own the onsite journey for your proposition domain, ensuring a seamless launch, customer communication through the journey, integrations implemented on time and clarity on performance and ongoing optimisation.
7. Own the communication strategy for your product area that enables you to effectively share the product strategy, plans, risks and goals, alongside impacted audiences internally and externally.
8. Driving innovation and providing inspiration for customers by creating and building new ways to shop or improve the shopping experience that drives conversion and sales and considering differences in needs and motivations across our customer segmentation.
9. Building a roadmap of new commercial opportunities (such as implementing the usage of new technology or developing our loyalty strategy) from scoping to implementation.
10. Scoping, manipulating and interpreting detailed analysis to support in the identification of new opportunities with commercial gains or risks detailed.
11. Reviewing and testing features and functionality delivery, ensuring they meet the requested scope and their performance demonstrates that it aligns to both customer and commercial needs.


Who you are

12. Experience in bringing together different strategies and leading other areas to achieve success.
13. Strong experience of developing and successfully executing the vision and strategy for products that align with company goals and customer needs.
14. Strong experience prioritising product roadmaps with clear feature definition and roadmap management.
15. Excellent skilled communicator, with strong stakeholder management and influence skills, with experience in managing and leading cross functional teams, coordinating across product, design, testing and business teams to achieve product outcomes.
16. Experience in developing, running and supporting others in leading go to market strategies, ensuring successful product launches, leveraging data to drive continuous improvement.
