Role Description

ISAJO is a brand-new international remote-first charity, working to stop the cycle of systematic abuse in cults and sects. We are at the exciting starting phase, where we are shaping our culture, brand, ways of working, governance, and fundraising approach.

We’re looking for a volunteer to act as a Charity Founder’s Leadership Associate. You’ll work directly with ISAJO’s founding Chair, supporting across projects, research, and organisation-building, while gaining insight into how a charity is set up and run.

This is a role for someone ambitious and curious about leadership in the charity sector — perhaps even considering setting up your own charity one day. You’ll get the opportunity to learn right from the start how to build a charity, and make many contacts.

What you’ll do

* Support the Founder across a range of projects (research, fundraising, governance, operations).
* Assist with coordination, communication, and organisation.
* Shadow board and leadership activities, gaining first-hand insight.
* Take on small projects tailored to your skills and interests.

What you’ll gain

* First-hand experience of building a charity from scratch.
* Exposure to governance, fundraising, and strategy in practice.
* Mentorship and references from the Founder/Chair.
* A chance to shape your own path in the charity sector.

Time commitment: Flexible, approx. 5–10 hours per week, or as agreed.

As an organisation:

We are committed to the following ways of being:

* Open, inclusive, supportive, adaptable, organic, collaborative, a network

We are committed to the following ways of working:

* Opportunistic, test small, use skills right, focus on the right issues, simple solutions, effective, learn from feedback, solutions-focused. We don’t have to agree on everything, but we need to move forward!

Qualifications

* Interest in eradicating systematic abuse worldwide
* Interest in supporting an organisation at its very first stages
* Strategic Planning, Governance and Operations
* Ability to work collaboratively with a diverse group of stakeholders

We aim to always create win-win situations for our volunteers, yourself included, so we care as much about you gaining some benefit from taking on this mission as you being able to support ISAJO.
