Astute's Renewables Team is partnering with a renewable energy technology provider committed to sustainability, innovation, and professional development to recruit a Mechanical Field Service Technician for its UK-wide field-based operations.

Responsibilities and duties of the Field Service Technician role
Reporting to the Field Service Manager you will:
* Carry out installation, commissioning, maintenance, and servicing of biogas upgrading plants, gas transport systems, and anaerobic digestion facilities.
* Perform planned preventative and reactive maintenance on mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems.
* Diagnose and troubleshoot faults using specialist diagnostic equipment and technical schematics.
* Support commissioning activities, system upgrades, and refurbishment projects across customer sites.
* Provide on-site and remote technical support to operators and clients during breakdowns and maintenance activities.
* Participate in on-call rotations and respond to emergency breakdown situations when required.
* Maintain accurate maintenance documentation, service reports, and spare parts records using internal service management systems.
* Ensure compliance with all QHSE procedures, risk assessments, and site safety regulations.
* Coordinate tools, consumables, service vehicles, and spare parts to ensure operational readiness.
Professional qualifications
We are looking for someone with the following:
* A higher qualification in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Maintenance, or a related discipline.
* At least 5 years of experience within industrial maintenance, servicing, or field service environments.
* Experience diagnosing and repairing mechanical, and hydraulic systems.
* Experience using diagnostic and maintenance tools within industrial environments.
* Previous experience within biogas, anaerobic digestion, renewable energy, or process industries would be advantageous.
* Strong IT skills and experience using CMMS or field service management software.
* Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel frequently to customer sites.
