Your Responsibilities: As a Works Delivery Manager, you will be responsible for the management of multiple Network Rail and rail related infrastructure contracts, including planned and reactive works. Reporting to CML’s Senior Project Manager in Sheffield, the role will involve working on projects throughout the Eastern Region. In order to carry out some of the main functions of the role, you will also need to have an excellent understanding of design drawings and a commercial awareness of cost monitoring and cost value reconciliation. Liaising with the Client on a day-to-day basis is also a key part of this position, so we are looking for someone who is able to confidently maintain and develop client relationships on the basis of mutual trust and high standards. Main function of job: • Undertake pre-site scoping visits to capture works requirements and enable robust planning and execution of works • Liaise with commercial team to review estimate submissions and final account details – analysing trends and reporting on day-to-day civils performance to the Project Manager to identify contractual progress of works against programme • Manage allocated site teams to ensure compliance with site returns, commercial reporting, quality and safety etc to drive efficiencies across the Framework and assist with timely submissions of EWNs/compensation events • Prepare and implement Site specific management plans to ensure Site activities comply with CML Health and Safety, Quality and Environmental Policies • Prepare and implement site documentation and contract plans to conform, as a minimum, to the Client’s requirement and specification • Ensure robust programme management in the planning of works, capturing all required 3rd party access consents, possession/isolation submissions, traffic management requests etc where required to co-ordinate and facilitate the successful execution of works • Identify training needs and development potential of allocated CML personnel • Undertake site audits and engage with allocated site teams • Lead and implement professional safety behaviour and culture throughout the business, promoting positive change in everyday activities • Any other duties as may reasonably be required Person Specification: • Experience of reactive Works Delivery Frameworks/fast paced environment (at least 5 years) • Civil Engineering Construction work, ideally in a railway environment (at least 5 years) • Appreciation of Network Rail design process • Demonstratable Line management experience • Demonstratable commercial experience – NEC 4 contract experience desirable • Demonstratable Programme Management experience Qualifications: • Suitably qualified by experience • Railway Safety Training – PTS essential, COSS/IWA desirable • Continued professional development courses as appropriate – SMSTS - MAPM - NVQ 6/7 - NEBOSH - Temporary Works Co-Ordinator The Package Competitive Pay A Company car A collaborative and friendly working culture, focussed on investing in people Up to 25 days holiday Statutory Bank Holidays Company Sick Pay Annual professional subscription costs Excellent training & development opportunities, provided by our award nominated in house Training team Paid Volunteering days and Charity events Annual Flu Jabs Employee Assistance Programmes for advice and counselling Access to a committed Mental Health First Aider team Company Pension and Death in Service scheme of 2x annual salary A generous Employee Referral scheme of £1000 per successful hire At CML we are committed to creating a diverse workforce and an inclusive culture where everyone can be themselves and reach their full potential, not only because this is the right thing to do, but because it makes us a better business.
