Job Summary
Witard Dental Practice based in Norwich are looking for a dental nurse to join their busy practice on a part-time basis for 3 days a week. The primary responsibility of the role is to provide clinical support for a wide range of treatments across a broad client base, working alongside highly experienced dental clinicians, therapists, nurses and receptionists.
Responsibilities
* Assisting in the full range of dental care provided to patients, from supporting routine examinations to advanced specialist treatments.
* Welcoming patients and reassuring them about their treatments.
* Providing chairside support, responding quickly to requests during treatments.
* Assisting with all aspects of patient dental care and treatment including check-ups, fillings, x-rays and sterilising tools.
* Preparing and mixing dental materials.
* Maintaining and updating patient records.
* Stock control.
* Reassuring patients and responding to individual needs.
* Undertaking reception duties when required (e.g., greeting service users, answering the telephone, making appointments, explaining service user charges and collecting charges).
* Liaising with the dental team, senior leaders and wider colleagues to maintain the effective running of the dental service.

Person Specification
Qualifications
Essential
* National diploma in Dental Nursing Level 3 or equivalent.
* Valid GDC registration.
Desirable
* Certificate for the examination in the care of the service user by the awarding body, NEBDN.
* Certificate in Dental Radiography, Sedation, Oral Health Promotion, Special Care.
* NEBDN Oral Health Certificate in Oral Health Education or Certificate in Extended duties Dental Nursing.
Experience
Essential
* Previous experience as a dental nurse.
* Friendly, reliable, understanding individual.
