The Role Overview
Join Lawsons as a Van Driver and be a vital part of delivering our exceptional services and products to customers. You will play a crucial role in the logistics team, ensuring timely and safe deliveries while upholding the company's commitment to outstanding customer service.
Branch Location - Lawsons Bedford, Cambridge Rd, Bedford MK42 0LH
Working Hours
The role includes a 44.5-hour work week, from Monday to Friday 07:30 - 17:00 and every second Saturday from 08:00 - 12:00.

Key Responsibilities
* Ensure the safe and timely delivery of products to customers across designated routes.
* Maintain and check the vehicle to ensure it is roadworthy and meets all safety regulations.
* Assist in loading and unloading items, ensuring the correct products are delivered to the correct addresses.
* Work collaboratively with other team members to ensure smooth operations and customer satisfaction.
* Accurately complete and manage delivery logs and paperwork.
* Communicate effectively with customers to provide excellent service.
* Drive in accordance with the law, safely and courteously.
* Comply with current legislation.
* Cultivate and maintain exceptional standards of customer service and ensure Lawsons Best Practice, Standards and Company Policies are met.
* Proactively contribute by seeking out potential company sales.
* Be vigilant to prevent loss or damage of product and vehicle.
* Be vigilant and report any Health & Safety issues to the Line Manager immediately.
Skills and Qualifications
* A full valid category B driving license (essential)
* Previous van driving experience working in a builder's merchants
* Strong time management skills and the ability to work independently.
* Excellent interpersonal skills with a commitment to customer service.
* Basic understanding of vehicle maintenance and safety checks.
* Ability to handle goods carefully to prevent damage.
