The Role
We are seeking a dynamic and entrepreneurial Business Development Manager to spearhead our growth in the UK and European markets. Candidates must be living in London. Based in London, you will be responsible for identifying new partnership opportunities, securing consultancy contracts, and expanding our portfolio of socio-economic development projects.

Key Responsibilities
* Strategic Growth: Develop and execute a business development strategy for the UK market, aligned with IDEMA’s global goals in social innovation and ESG.
* Partnership Building: Identify and cultivate relationships with key stakeholders, including government bodies, international donors (UNDP, World Bank, etc.), NGOs, and corporate CSR/ESG departments.
* Tender & Proposal Management: Lead the end-to-end process for international tenders and grant applications, from intelligence gathering to technical and financial proposal writing.
* Market Intelligence: Monitor trends in the UK and European development sectors, identifying emerging needs in urban poverty, green transformation, and digital inclusion.
* Representation: Serve as the face of IDEMA in London, attending industry conferences, networking events, and high-level meetings to promote our services and values.
* Collaboration: Work closely with our global teams in Istanbul, Brussels, and the US to leverage cross-border expertise for local opportunities.
Qualifications & Skills
* Experience: 5+ years of experience in Business Development, Partnerships, or Management Consulting, ideally within the international development, sustainability, or social enterprise sectors.
* Education: Master’s degree in International Development, Business Administration, Economics, or a related field.
* Network: An existing network within the UK development community or ESG/Sustainability circles is highly desirable.
* Proposal Excellence: Proven track record of winning tenders or securing large-scale funding/contracts.
* Communication: Exceptional written and verbal communication skills in English; ability to present complex development concepts to corporate and public audiences.
* Mindset: A proactive, self-starter attitude with a deep commitment to social impact and sustainable development.
