The Christie @ Macclesfield SACT services unit provides treatment for a variety of cancer diagnoses within solid tumour and haematology. We are looking for an enthusiastic SACT‑trained nurse to cover a 12‑month maternity leave and support the chemotherapy treatment of our patients.
Responsibilities
* liaise appropriately with all key members of the multi‑disciplinary team and service users related to the specialty
* be responsible for all aspects of patient care, including assessment, planning, delivery and evaluation of direct patient care
* take the lead on delegated responsibilities as defined by the Senior Sister and Matron
* support the Senior Sister/Matron in monitoring the safety and quality of care for patients
* coordinate the day‑to‑day management of the SACT unit
* collaborate between Christie sites across the Greater Manchester area as required
* manage, lead and motivate Band 5, 4 and 3 staff, ensuring compliance with mandatory training and appraisal requirements
* in the absence of the Senior Sister/Matron, take responsibility for the day‑to‑day management of the SACT unit
* ensure a positive, patient‑focused service by incorporating patient feedback to maintain and improve care
* act as an effective role model, promoting excellence through practice
