Due to additional funding, there is an exciting opportunity to expand the well-established Special School and Complex Needs Nursing Team in Redbridge.
We are seeking registered Paediatric Nurses to join the Complex Needs Nursing/Specialist School Nursing Team. You will support a defined caseload of children and young people aged 0-19 years with complex healthcare needs and disabilities within community and educational settings. Your responsibilities include assessing, managing, planning, and delivering care, while being professionally and legally accountable.
The ideal candidate will have an interest or knowledge in tissue viability, training, and development to enhance the services provided to children on your caseload. You will also support colleagues and share your expertise.
You will work with children with various learning disabilities and complex health needs, collaborating with professionals and agencies to meet identified care requirements. The nursing team values effective communication, working closely with parents, carers, education, and other agencies to help children reach their full potential in school.

Responsibilities include:
1. Working autonomously within the Community Team, supporting children aged 0-19 years with complex healthcare needs and disabilities in community settings.
2. Carrying out clinical procedures in partnership with other professionals and agencies to meet care needs.
3. Establishing and maintaining effective communication with children, parents, carers, colleagues, and multidisciplinary teams to promote positive health outcomes.
4. Having a special interest in Tissue Viability and contributing to training and development within the nursing team.
5. Supporting team members to ensure the health needs of children are met.
The service operates year-round, with core hours Monday to Friday, 9 am to 5 pm. Supervision sessions are held every 4-6 weeks with the team lead, including safeguarding supervision every three months and as needed. Regular team meetings are also scheduled.
Starting employment with NELFT involves a comprehensive induction at our head office in Rainham, Essex, including mandatory training, system training, and equipment allocation. New starters will meet with senior management and participate in engagement and wellbeing sessions.
This post is subject to a probationary period, except for internal applicants or those already in a probation period. Additionally, the role attracts a High-Cost Area Supplement of 15% of the basic salary, with a minimum of £4,714 and a maximum of £5,941, pro-rated for part-time staff.
While NELFT is a registered sponsor, sponsorship may not be available for all roles; eligibility under the UKVI points-based system should be verified.
