Armadale Academy is a six-year comprehensive school that serves over students and is situated in Armadale, a former mining town in West Lothian.
Armadale Academy is a modern building with excellent facilities, and we offer a full range of SQA qualifications as well as an increasing number of and SCQF options. The school currently has approximately 80 teaching staff and departments are organised under the direction of a Principal Teacher Curriculum, who has responsibility for a curricular area alongside a whole school strategic leadership remit. In addition, our support structure currently includes three Heads of House and three Teachers of Wellbeing. In May our ELT remits were revised to align with school, local and national priorities.
The whole school community works in partnership to improve outcomes for students. We aim to provide the highest possible standard of education for all young people in a safe, caring and stimulating environment.
Our vision statement of ‘Learning Together, Achieving Together’ underpins our collaborative approach to improvement, where every voice is important and in which all members of the school community are valued and their achievements recognised. The school values – respect, equity, ambition, community and health - underpin all decision making in the daily life of the school.
