CK Group are recruiting for a Senior Laboratory Manager to join a Life Sciences solutions provider revolutionising biomedical research who are based in Macclesfield on a fixed term contract basis for 9 months.

Salary:
£70-73,000 + benefits
Role:
* Oversee testing of clinical samples and supervise, mentor, and develop laboratory staff, including scientists, technicians and support personnel.
* Lead a high-throughput clinical genome sequencing laboratory, including technical troubleshooting, developing and writing operational procedures, setting laboratory key performance indicators and establishing quality metrics.
* Design and implement processes and procedures to ensure efficient turnaround times and accuracy of results and oversee daily laboratory operations, including workflow optimization, resource allocation and equipment maintenance.
* Prepare and manage laboratory budgets, monitor expenditures and optimize resource utilization.
* Ensure all processes comply with national regulations, organizational policies and accreditation requirements and maintain ISO 15189, CAP and other accreditation standards, including preparation for audits and inspections.
* Lead initiatives for process improvement and communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
Your Background:
* Educated to PhD level ideally, with extensive experience in a high-throughput clinical DNA Sequencing laboratory.
* Experience with clinical assay development, process development and project management.
* Proven track record in team leadership, staff development and laboratory management.
* Strong background in Quality Assurance and Quality Control applications in clinical diagnostics.
* Detail-oriented, highly organized, with excellent verbal and written communication skills.
* Ability to troubleshoot technical applications and manage laboratory automation systems.
* Strong knowledge of quality control practices and regulations of UKAS, ISO 15189, CAP and other regulatory agencies.
