The Mechanical Supervisor is a key role within the Maintenance team, supporting the safe operation of assets, plant productivity, and reliability. As the Mechanical Maintenance Supervisor, you will:
Report directly to the Maintenance Manager and oversee Mechanical Maintenance Technicians and Mechanical Shift Maintenance Technicians.
The role is responsible for managing all mechanical maintenance tasks, ensuring safety standards, compliance with site and industry regulations, and maintaining ISO standards (ISO9001, ISO45001, ISO14001) and cGMP requirements.
You will take full responsibility for Mechanical Maintenance activities, ensuring tasks are completed safely and promptly. Collaborate with the Planning & Scheduling team and Site Engineers to enhance plant reliability.
Main Tasks and Responsibilities
* Maintain Health, Safety, and Environmental standards during all work activities.
* Manage the Mechanical Maintenance team, including work allocation, review of work packs, and ensuring RAMS are adequate.
* Monitor work progress, ensure timely completion, and close work orders in the CMMS system.
* Handle priority work from defect identification to completion, including raising PRs, organizing resources, and creating RAMS.
* Document and close out work in the Maintenance Management System.
* Manage team timekeeping, holidays, disciplinary issues, and deputize for the Maintenance Manager.
* Coordinate with the Maintenance Planner to develop job packs, RAMS, and schedules.
* Contribute to Root Cause Analyses (RCAs) and follow-up actions to improve equipment performance.
* Provide first-line problem solving for mechanical faults and work delivery issues.
* Participate in continuous improvement activities, ensuring preventive maintenance is properly executed.
SHEQ
* Ensure all Environmental, Health & Safety requirements are met during maintenance tasks.
* Promote a positive safety culture within the team.
* Carry out work safely and according to company guidelines.
* Report accidents, near misses, and safety concerns.
* Share improvements and best practices observed by the team.
Equipment Management
* Ensure timely completion of PMs, compliance, and regulatory work orders.
* Supervise Mechanical Technicians, assign priority work, and support projects and changeovers.
* Liaise with OEM contractors for inspections and coordinate future PM tasks with the Maintenance Planner.
