About the Role As a Pastry Chef de Partie, you’ll bring creativity, precision, and technical skill to our pastry kitchen, delivering exceptional desserts and baked goods across the Etihad Campus. From matchdays to high-end events, you’ll play a key role in menu preparation and execution, while supporting and mentoring junior pastry team members. Working closely with the Pastry Sous Chef, you’ll help ensure the section operates efficiently, safely, and consistently to our high standards. Day to Day Key Responsibilities Support the Pastry Sous Chef in the daily running of the pastry section. Supervise preparation and presentation of pastry items to maintain quality and consistency. Train, coach, and develop junior team members to meet departmental standards. Oversee departmental paperwork (HACCP, allergen matrixes, fridge/temperature records). Ensure compliance with food safety and hygiene standards at all times. Collaborate with senior chefs on menu planning and production timelines for matchdays and events. Maintain stock rotation, minimise waste, and ensure cost controls are followed. React quickly to client requests or operational changes, communicating effectively with the team. Qualifications & Skills Essential Proven experience as a Pastry Chef de Partie or strong experience as a Demi Pastry Chef ready to step up. Level 2 Food Hygiene and Safety (or willingness to obtain). Proficient technical pastry skills including chocolate work, intricate garnishes, and classic techniques. Strong organisational and time management skills with the ability to prioritise tasks effectively. Ability to train, coach, and motivate a small team within a high-pressure environment. Attention to detail and a methodical approach to processes and presentation. Flexible to work evenings, weekends, and matchdays as required. Desirable NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Professional Cookery (Patisserie) or equivalent qualification. Previous experience in large-scale events, stadiums, or multi-outlet hospitality environments. Creativity and innovation in pastry design and menu development. Knowledge of allergen management and experience implementing HACCP systems.
