A rapidly growing construction group with offices in Birmingham and London is hiring a Digital Transformation Consultant with a focus on Data Products for an initial 3 to 6 month contract. This is a hands on role for someone who understands how to move organisations beyond reporting and into well defined, scalable data products and modern data practices.
The business is investing heavily in modernising its Microsoft ecosystem and wants support implementing practical data capabilities across Azure, Fabric and the wider MS stack. You will help shape how data products are designed, delivered and adopted, ensuring data becomes a core enabler for decision making, automation and future growth.
Role: Digital Transformation Consultant, Data Products Focus
Day Rate: Competitive, Outside IR35
Location: Hybrid, with on site time required in Birmingham
Duration: 3 to 6 months minimum, potential to extend
What you will be doing:
* Assess the current digital and data landscape, identifying gaps in tooling, ownership and practices
* Define and implement data products that serve real business use cases rather than one off reports
* Introduce modern data practices including product thinking, ownership models and clear data contracts
* Design scalable data operating models covering ingestion, transformation, governance and access
* Advise on best practice use of Azure, Fabric and the Microsoft data ecosystem
* Define how data products integrate into operational workflows across projects and teams
* Create clear documentation, standards and playbooks to support long term adoption
* Work closely with senior stakeholders to prioritise initiatives and build realistic delivery roadmaps
* Support internal teams through change, capability uplift and operational readiness
What you will need:
* Strong experience in digital or data transformation roles with a focus on data products or platforms
* Deep understanding of modern data practices and product led data delivery
* Hands on experience with Microsoft data technologies including Fabric, Azure and SQL
* Ability to bring structure to complex or immature environments
* Experience designing data operating models, governance frameworks and delivery standards
* Confident working with non technical stakeholders to embed new ways of working
* Background in construction or project based industries is useful but not essential
* Willingness to travel to Birmingham when required
