Assistant Accountant required for local organisation on the South Coast
Your new company
You will be working for a local SME in Southampton who are seeking a dedicated, organised Assistant Accountant to join the finance team. They operate within a number of locations across the UK, with the head office being Southampton.
Your new role
* Oversee Purchase Ledger, Sales Ledger, and Payroll functions, ensuring all financial transactions are recorded accurately.
* Perform monthly account reconciliations, including bank reconciliations and resolution of discrepancies.
* Prepare monthly financial reports, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
* Conduct Key Performance Indicator (KPI) analysis to support business decision-making.
* Perform cost management analysis to identify areas for financial efficiency.
* Assist with external audits by preparing audit schedules and addressing auditor queries.
* Provide necessary documentation and implement recommendations from post-audit reviews.
* Support in the preparation of annual budgets.
* Conduct cashflow forecasting and ensure effective cashflow management.
What you'll need to succeed
* Full right to work in the UK, with prior experience working within a UK finance function.
* Prior experience working in a similar role, managing AP & AR processes, Financial Reporting & Cashflow management.
* AAT Qualified, ACCA or CIMA Part Qualified or Qualified by experience
* Strong analytical skills are a necessity.
* Strong MS Excel Skills
What you'll get in return
You will earn a competitive salary ranging between £28,000 and £33,000 depending on experience + benefits. (For more information on benefits please reach out on my contact details below).
