Overview
An exciting opportunity to provide high standard care to children and families with Diabetes. You will work collaboratively with, and lead a team of Paediatric Diabetes Specialist Nurses. You will work alongside an experienced paediatric consultant with specialist expertise in Diabetes. An extended multidisciplinary team will also be on hand to offer support. The post holder will work across the UHCW and Rugby St Cross sites, whilst occasionally needing to attend meetings within community settings.
Responsibilities
* Lead and collaborate with the Paediatric Diabetes Specialist Nursing team.
* Work with an experienced paediatric consultant and multidisciplinary team to deliver high‑quality care.
* Develop and deliver patient‑centred care based on local and national guidance, including assessment, planning and implementation of specialist care.
* Provide advice, support and education in collaboration with the wider MDT, including child protection/safeguarding teams.
* Participate in audit and network meetings, and provide education to medical and nursing staff to improve quality and enhance care delivery.
* Occasionally attend community meetings and support services across UHCW and Rugby St Cross sites.
Qualifications
* Must provide an immunisation and vaccination report (from UK occupational health provider or GP).
* Clinical expert in paediatric diabetes, working autonomously as part of the multidisciplinary team.
* Capable of acting as clinician, educator, researcher and manager/leader of the paediatric diabetes team.
* Able to make informed decisions within the specialty to ensure standards and targets are met.
