JOB SUMMARY:
The GP will be responsible for delivering the full range of primary careservices as part of the Practice, ensuring the highest standards of care forthe differing needs of our patient population.

Will fully participate in the management, learning and development ofstaff including presentations on topics (both clinical and non-clinical) fordiscussion.
CLINICAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
The post-holder will make him/her-self available to undertake a varietyof duties including surgery consultations, telephone consultations and queries,visiting patients at home, checking and signing repeat prescriptions anddealing with queries, paperwork and correspondence in a timely fashion.
Making professional, autonomous decisions in relation to presentingproblems, whether self-referred or referred from other health care workerswithin the organisation
Assessing the health care needs of patients with undifferentiated andundiagnosed problems
Screening patients for disease risk factors and early signs of illness
In consultation with patients and in line with current Practice diseasemanagement protocols, developing care plans for health
Providing counselling and health education
Admitting or discharging patients to and from the caseload and referringto other care providers as appropriate
Recording clear and contemporaneous consultation notes to agreedstandards
Participate in audit work as required
Compiling and issuing computer-generated acute and repeat prescriptions(avoiding hand-written prescriptions whenever possible)
Prescribing in accordance with the practice prescribing formulary (orgenerically) whenever this is clinically appropriate
In general the post-holder will be expected to undertake all the normalduties and responsibilities associated with a GP working within primary care.
Report any significant events to the practice Manager

Essential
1. Fully Qualified GP eligible to work in General Practice in the NHS
2. Full GMC Registration
3. On Performers List or eligible to apply
4. Clear DBS report
5. Knowledge of the NHS & commitment to continuing professional development
6. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (both written & verbal)
7. Able to work effectively independently and as part of a team
8. Good organisational and time management skills
9. Flexible and trustworthy
10. Willingness to participate in Practice meetings and
11. development initiatives
