We are working with a growing financial services business in West Malling (hybrid working available after probation), and they are looking for a Manual Software Tester to join their close-knit IT team. Are you a detail-oriented manual tester who loves thinking like a user? Do you enjoy turning user stories into clear, actionable test plans? Confident in communicating with developers, BAs, and stakeholders alike? You will play a key role in ensuring that software is thoroughly tested before going live, helping to identify bugs, raise defects, and ultimately improve the user experience. This role is primarily office-based, with the option to work from home one day a week after probation. There’s also a requirement to do out-of-hours implementation testing roughly once a week – and any time worked is logged and given back. What you will be doing: Reading user stories and technical specs to understand what needs testing Creating test plans and test cases with a user-focused approach Executing manual tests and documenting bugs clearly Collaborating with developers, BAs and other stakeholders to ensure issues are understood and fixed Supporting with UAT and answering queries Suggesting improvements to processes and documentation Helping with general IT support requests (training provided) Occasionally assisting with technical documentation for proposed system changes What we are looking for: Experience in manual software testing Ability to write test cases and execute them confidently Good communicator – able to explain issues clearly in plain English Curious mindset with strong attention to detail Comfortable working independently and as part of a team An organised and methodical approach to managing your own workload Bonus points for: Knowledge of the mortgage or financial services industry Familiarity with ClickUp, SQL or Microsoft Office Experience supporting UAT or liaising with non-technical users If you are methodical, user-focused, and enjoy working in a collaborative tech team, this could be a great opportunity to grow your testing skills in a supportive environment.
