Part Time Store Protection Officer – Waitrose, Bath
Pay rate: £15.64 per hour (breaks unpaid). Guaranteed number of hours per week, permanent location.
Job Overview
* Retail Security Officer role to protect the Waitrose store, its people, and/or assets by providing security and excellent customer service through Mitie and Waitrose key values.
* £15.64 per hour payrate and benefits including Save As You Earn, Share Incentive Plan, Cycle to Work, Life Assurance and Childcare Vouchers.
* Full and extensive training will be provided, including MAYBO and a focus on customer service.
* Company‑funded SIA licence renewal and support from the NOC, with technology such as body‑worn camera and incident reporting device.
* Deliver results that meet and/or exceed the expectations of Mitie and Waitrose by using all technology provided and following ASCONE guidance.

Main Duties
Operations
* Be aware of and ensure compliance with all aspects of policies and relevant legal and regulatory requirements as directed by the Security Account Manager and in accordance with UK Law and Guidance bodies.
* Fully engage with the National Operations Centre (NOC) and Mitie management, using all technology provided, including body‑cams and mobile devices to aid in the reporting of all incidents.
* Complete all tasks and duties on site as defined within the published Assignment Instructions (AI's).
* Proactively review the published Assignment Instructions and suggest amendments to improve the current level of service.
* Maintain compliance with Industry and Statutory Legislation, including wearing a front‑line licence in either Security Guarding or Door Supervision at all times while on duty; additional required courses will be completed as contractually mandated.
* Work systematically, methodically, and in an orderly manner.
Training
* Complete all required competency training to a satisfactory level.
* Undertake ongoing training to ensure continuous self‑development as directed by the Security Account Manager.
* Use technology to achieve key work objectives and develop job knowledge through continual professional development.
* Renew your licence at least 16 weeks before expiry.
Security and Health & Safety
* Identify and immediately report any health & safety hazards or potential hazards on site.
* Stay alert to threats or changes within the work environment and take appropriate action to reduce risk of disruption, loss or damage.
* Use common sense and initiative to involve others if a situation appears threatening.
* Maintain professional conduct in the face of difficult situations and challenging customers.
* Complete an accurate, detailed notebook entry shortly after any incident, which can then be used as part of the Incident Report process.
* Adhere to schedules and demonstrate commitment to Mitie and the Client.
* Ensure check calls are carried out at the allocated time slot as stipulated in the Assignment Instructions (AI's).
* Call emergency services and the Communication Centre to report all incidents.
