Applicants who do not meet the essential criteria will be considered under the Annex 21 training programme, where whilst undergoing training, they will be paid a 75% of the top of Band4 and on completion of training will then move on to Band 4scale.

The Role
To provide a high standard of care to a wide patient group of all ages, ethnic background and clinical condition during radiological imaging procedures which include CT, MRI, Fluoroscopy, Ultrasound and plain film examination.
To assist radiology staff in producing high quality images in all imaging modalities, ensuring the provision of high quality, patient‑centred care, ensuring an effective and efficient flow of patients throughout the department and hospital.
From 1 April 2026, the Agenda for Change full-time working week will reduce from 37 hours to 36 hours. Part-time working hours will be reduced on a pro‑ratio basis. A corresponding increase in the hourly rate will apply, ensuring that overall pay remains unchanged.
Responsibilities
* Care for every patient’s needs and look after their welfare
* Perform initial basic assessment of patient physical capabilities (e.g., the patient’s ability to undress)
* Provide basic information to patients
* Input patient data on the Radiology Information System
What You’ll Bring
* SVQ III in Healthcare Support – Clinical (incorporating modules on radiographic images) or working towards such qualification or equivalent radiography experience
* SVQ III in Healthcare Support – Clinical or working towards such qualification or equivalent experience working within a clinical healthcare environment/role
* Postholders with no previous radiography experience will be treated in accordance with Annex U arrangements for pay and banding of trainees at 75% of the maximum of the salary scale
* Initial induction period of up to 3 months followed by a period of training and consolidation to achieve full competency across a range of specialties within 12 months
