Job Summary
The Post Holder will provide 24 hour continuous management responsibility for their designated area. This will include co‑ordination of all aspects of managerial function across the Directorate in the absence of senior management staff. The Post Holder will ensure the provision of the highest standards of care, reflecting the quality standards and the Health Board's mission. They will be responsible for appropriate delegation of duties and workload within the Directorate, ensuring duties are carried out to agreed standards, and provide advice and support on clinical and managerial issues.
Responsibilities
Oversee the delivery of maternity services across the three sites, ensuring continuity of care and integration of midwifery‑led units and birthing pools. Coordinate staffing, maintain quality outcomes, support staff development, and uphold clinical governance within the Directorate.
Qualifications
* NMC registered midwife (essential)
* First level degree (desirable)
Experience
* Relative experience as a Band 6 midwife (essential)
* Experience working within a labour ward setting (desirable)
* Experience managing staff (desirable)
* Experience as a Band 7 (desirable)
Skills
* Ability to suture, cannulate, and scrub (essential)
* Welsh language speaking/listening skills Level 3 or above (desirable)
