Role Description
The successful candidate will be responsible for traveling to job sites to assist with breakdowns or provide support across Northamptonshire and the West Midlands. The typical workweek is around 50 hours, with full autonomy over your schedule. Overtime is paid at the prevailing rate plus a £2 per hour uplift. The company values flexibility and a good work-life balance, offering extra hours over weekends if early finishes are achieved during the week.
Candidate Requirements
* Qualified and/or time-served HGV Technician
* Solid experience as a Mobile Fitter, HGV Technician, or HGV Mechanic
* Strong mechanical and electrical knowledge, including hydraulic systems
* Ability to perform routine maintenance, diagnose faults, and carry out repairs on hydraulic, mechanical, and electrical systems, including on-site breakdown assistance
* Experience with commercial vehicles, heavy plant, forklifts, HGVs, or agricultural machinery (desirable)
* Own tools (company offers insurance coverage)
* Possession of a CSCS card and HS2 experience (desirable)
* NVQ Level 2 or higher in service, maintenance, and repair (preferable)
* Experience working with various vehicle sizes from Vans to HGVs and Road Sweepers
* Possession of a Class 1 Driving Licence (Cat C+E) (desirable)
* Comfortable working with large heavy equipment
