Thorn Baker has teamed up with one of the UK's leading property maintenance and refurbishment groups. A national presence serving sectors such as social housing, defence, hotel and leisure, healthcare, and education, with a turnover of c.£250m and around 1,000 employees, they have grown significantly over the last few years. To support their continued and ambitious growth plans to double in size in the next 4 years, they are seeking a Quantity Surveyor to join theirShepshed Office.

Your Responsibilities:
4. Obtain and evaluate information to ensure a realistic cost for the supply of works, goods, materials and services for a number of designated projects / contracts
5. Managing the commercial relationship with clients
6. Producing accurate forecasts of projects cost to completion in line with budgets and report any changes that may affect projects costs and/or timescale
7. Fully reviewing and highlighting the contract conditions that impact, and may impact the commercial status of each project prior to the commencement of the project, detailing all risk and key rules to the project delivery team
8. Ensure individual contract information complies with Health, Safety, Welfare and Legal requirements ensuring it complies with quality standards
9. Managing the work to maintain the individual Client/Customer care requirements to make sure they are met
10. Advise, formulate and submit claims for loss and expense
11. Carrying out commercial evaluation of all projects after completion
Required Skills:
12. Experience in a similar role, within the construction sector to include social housing
13. Detailed understanding of Contracts
14. Strong commercial awareness
15. Excellent interpersonal skills
16. Good analytical, financial and numeracy skills
17. Negotiation skills
18. Proactive team player who can also work well with others
19. Ability to work to tight deadlines
