Main Purpose of the Job;
· To provide professional health services, support the well-being of our workforce, and ensure compliance with health & safety regulations.
Key Responsibilities;
* Health Surveillance:
· Conduct health assessments and screenings for employees, including pre-employment and periodic health checks.
· Monitor and manage the health surveillance program, ensuring compliance with relevant legislation.
* Injury and Illness Management:
· Provide immediate response and first aid for workplace injuries or illnesses.
· Collaborate with on-site medical facilities and external healthcare providers to manage more serious cases.
* Health Promotion:
· Develop and implement health promotion initiatives, campaigns, and training programs to enhance employee well-being.
· Conduct educational sessions on topics such as nutrition, stress management, and overall health.
* Case Management:
· Manage occupational health cases, maintaining accurate and confidential records.
· Liaise with external health professionals, maintaining effective communication throughout the case resolution process.
* Health and Safety Compliance:
· Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, advising on necessary adjustments to maintain a safe working environment.
· Participate in risk assessments and provide recommendations for hazard control.
* Emergency Response:
· Contribute to the development and implementation of emergency response protocols.
· Provide support during critical incidents, working closely with the emergency response team.
* Collaboration and Communication:
· Collaborate with HR, management, and external agencies to support the overall health and well-being strategy.
· Communicate effectively with employees, providing guidance on health-related matters.
Qualifications & Experience
* Experience in Occupational Health, preferably within a manufacturing or industrial setting.
* Registered Nurse with a valid NMC registration.
* Post registration qualification in Occupational Health Nursing.
* Knowledge of UK health and safety regulations and legislation.
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills
* Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.
* Compliance with GDPR.
