Responsibilities:
* Proactively seek and win new projects, contributing extensively to Business Development (BD) strategies.
* Manage a team of technical professionals.
* Conduct Flood Risk Assessments (FRA) and design Drainage Strategies, including Sustainable Drainage Systems (SuDS).
* Complete Hydrological and Flood Risk chapters of Environmental Impact Assessments, Nutrient Neutrality, and ESG factors.
* Undertake site visits, write comprehensive reports, and analyse data.
* Use appropriate software packages (including MicroDrainage, Causeway Flow, etc.) to inform and produce designs and technical documents.
* Work with AutoCAD to develop conceptual drainage systems.
* Produce flood risk maps within QGIS (or similar).
* Establish and maintain excellent working relationships with clients and other stakeholders.
Required skills and experience:
* UK Bachelors Degree (or equivalent) in Civil Engineering, Geography, or cognate discipline.
* Considerable experience of winning projects and contributing to BD strategies.
* Demonstrable experience in a flood risk and drainage role within a UK‑based consultancy setting.
* Extensive experience authoring Flood Risk Assessments and producing Drainage Strategies.
* Experience managing people and projects.
* Proficiency in MicroDrainage, InfoDrainage, Causeway Flow, TUFLOW, and similar software systems.
* Good working knowledge of AutoCAD and GIS software systems.
* Excellent understanding of the Microsoft Office Suite.
* Outstanding communication (written & verbal) and interpersonal skills.
* Experience managing relations with clients and other stakeholders.
* Dedication to continuing professional development (CPD).
* Hold a full, valid UK Driving Licence.
Desirable skills and experience:
* Understanding of relevant planning policy, procedures, and regulatory processes.
* Prior experience producing technical reports for flood modelling studies.
* Good knowledge of hydraulic modelling for rivers, surface water, and/or sewer drainage.
* Actively working to attain Chartered Status.
