Cascade are looking for full-time enthusiastic Support Workers to join our growing team. Over the past year, Cascade have opened 2 residential homes in Norwich with scope to open more in the coming year. Main function of the job:
* To provide care in accordance with current best practice, according to policy and procedures, agreed standards, legislative requirements, relevant regulations under the direction of the Manager, and within the financial plans agreed from time-to-time.
* To maintain care skills at a current level, and undertake such training and development as may from time-to-time be required to maintain that currency of practice.
* To carry out such additional support worker functions that may be required of you from time to time.
Main Duties (not in any order of priority):
* Develop effective working relationships with the other employees within Cascade.
* Support an open, positive and inclusive working culture.
* Participate in the development of Cascade's policies.
* Participate in evaluation of Cascade against agreed organisational goals, business, and quality objectives.
* Work to establish effective employer-employee relationships.
* Minimise legal risks.
* Participate in the maintenance of Cascade's management information systems.
* Assist in the formulation and implementation of care policies and procedures.
* To work flexibly and have the ability to work with all residents and multiple sites as necessary.
* Assist in the implementation and maintenance of the standards required by legislation related to the registration of Cascade. (CQC/Ofsted)
* Act within Cascade's budget based on Cascade's objectives and within the projected revenue.
* Work in a cost-effective manner.
* Be involved in the implementation and maintenance of Cascade's quality assurance programme.
* Assist in the design and administration of an evaluation of the care standards and care service provision.
* Systematically solve day-to-day problematical issues which arise.
Care Services:
* Assist in the development of the philosophy, goals and objectives for the care practice.
* Assist in the assessment of the effectiveness of care implementation and delivery
* Implement action to meet and maintain care standards.
* Work in cooperation with members of multidisciplinary health teams in order to maximise opportunities for residents therapeutic care.
* Ensure residents rights are protected.
* Encourage a model of self-care and residents progression.
* Record relevant activities in support plans.
* Evaluate standards of care competence.
* Provide personal care to residents where required
* Support with diet and meal planning
* Supporting to cook and clean with and for residents depending on needs
* Supporting with and maintaining positive family relationships,
* Input into the development of behaviour plans
* Managing behaviours of distress (behaviours that challenge),
* Contributing to and implementing plans of care
Professional Long Term Care Leadership:
* Encourage innovative methods for the delivery of care.
* Encourage health promotion within care strategies.
* Seek opportunities for personal and professional growth.
* Promote a positive image for residency and employment within Cascade.
Human Resources:
* Cooperate with the implementation, evaluation, orientation and induction of all new employees.
* Reporting and recording as per policy and procedure
* Communicate with all other employees effectively whilst maintaining GDPR standards
* Support the implementation of Cascade's policies and procedures.
* Support the effective resolution of team conflicts.
* Support a work atmosphere which promotes a high quality of work life.
* Support and maintain a culture of performance and excellence.
Qualifications required:
* Care certificate within 12 weeks of commencement of employment.
* If employed within an Ofsted residential home is required to complete the Level 3 Diploma in Residential Child Care within 2 years of working with children. The post holder must hold, being working towards or willing to work towards this qualification.
