Overview
Graduate Structural Engineer - Advanced Facilities (Glasgow) role within Jacobs' Graduate Development Programme (GDP). The programme is a structured two-year scheme designed to support your development at the start of your Jacobs career, blending learning, mentoring, progress reviews and networking to establish you as competent across four focus areas: human skills, consulting skills, championing our strategy, and your personal passions. The GDP emphasises on-the-job learning with a focus on meaningful projects and collaboration with industry leaders.
This graduate position involves working as part of a multi-discipline, highly interactive and coordinated team on projects including semiconductor manufacturing, data centre facilities and other state-of-the-art manufacturing facilities. You will contribute to projects that span feasibility studies, long-range planning, and full design services from programming and schematic design to design development, construction documents and services during construction for both design/bid/build and design/build projects.
Responsibilities
* Work within a multi-discipline, interactive team on complex facilities projects (e.g., semiconductor manufacturing, data centres, advanced manufacturing facilities).
* Contribute to feasibility studies, long-range planning studies and full design services including programming, schematic design, design development, construction documents, and construction-phase services.
* Collaborate with managers and mentors to collect learning experiences aligned with your career goals.
* Apply professional knowledge in a team environment on technically challenging and rewarding projects while meeting targeted commitments in a fast-moving client environment.
* Engage in the Graduate Development Programme elements: blended learning, mentoring, progress reviews and networking.
Qualifications
* Be working towards a relevant Degree or Masters level in Civil/Structural Engineering
* A flexible self-starter who is keen to drive your career forward
* Adaptable to change, with a thirst for learning new things
* You must have the permanent right to work in the UK
