The role
Support Worker, Vale of Glamorgan, £14.50-15.25 p/h We are seeking compassionate, reliable, and motivated Agency Support Workers to join our team, supporting individuals with learning disabilities in their own homes, within the community, and across a range of services as required. This rewarding role focuses on promoting independence, dignity, choice, and inclusion while delivering high-quality, person-centred support tailored to each individual’s needs. Key Responsibilities Provide person-centred support with daily living activities, including personal care, meal preparation, and household tasks. Offer companionship and emotional support, helping individuals build confidence and maintain positive wellbeing. Support service users to access community activities, appointments, education, employment opportunities, and social events. Assist with mobility and Moving & Handling tasks safely and in accordance with care plans and best practice guidelines. Support individuals who may display challenging behaviours, responding calmly, positively, and professionally to promote a safe and supportive environment. Encourage and empower individuals to achieve their personal goals, develop life skills, and maximise their independence. Promote choice, dignity, respect, and inclusion in all aspects of support. Maintain accurate records and report any concerns regarding the health, wellbeing, or safety of service users. Required Skills & Experience A minimum of 6 months’ UK-based experience in care or supporting individuals with learning disabilities. Experience supporting individuals who display challenging behaviours. A compassionate, patient, and enthusiastic approach to supporting others. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. The ability to work effectively as part of a team while also being confident working independently. Reliable, flexible, and committed to delivering high-quality, person-centred care and support.
