Optical Production First Line Support Engineer 2nd shift
The WF Optics First Line Support Engineer (2nd Shift) is part of a multi-disciplinary team supporting production in the Wilton Factory. The role involves troubleshooting, documenting issues, and collaborating with various production teams and senior management.
Key Responsibilities:
* Work hands-on with technicians to troubleshoot and document production interruptions.
* Serve as the initial escalation point for issues related to polishing, machining, contact, coating, bonding, lithography/etching, interferometry, and advanced correction.
* Develop and implement containment strategies and structural solutions for production issues.
* Escalate process or procedural issues to the Production Engineering team and act as a consultant.
* Represent the work floor in product, process, and tool development discussions.
* Contribute to metrics such as cycle time, labor hours, and capital expenditures, and participate in lean and value stream exercises.
Qualifications:
* Bachelor of Science in a technical field, preferably optics or laser physics.
* Minimum 2 years of experience in a high-tech manufacturing or production environment, with optical fabrication/assembly experience.
* Proficiency in interpreting mechanical blueprints and tolerances.
* Experience with CNC operation, troubleshooting, and programming.

Additional Information:
* This position requires access to controlled technology under US Export Regulations.
