A Waking Night Coach (Support Worker) at SuperCare provides reassurance, safety, and comfort while the children sleep. Nights can be unpredictable - some children may rest peacefully, while others wake distressed, anxious, or in need of personal care. You'll be the steady presence who ensures that even in the quiet hours, the children feel safe, supported, and understood.
This home supports young people with severe to profound learning disabilities and complex needs, including autism, ADHD, epilepsy, global developmental delay, non-verbal communication, and sensory differences. The home recently achieved "Good" in its first Ofsted inspection and is on a clear path toward "Outstanding," and we're looking for the right adults to help continue that progress.

What You'll Do
You'll be responsible for overnight care and support, including:
* Helping children with toileting, bathing, continence, and medication routines
* Providing comfort and calm when children wake distressed, confused, or dysregulated
* Using PECS, Makaton and visual supports to help children understand routines
* Responding safely and sensitively to behaviours such as smearing, spitting, or aggression
* Keeping consistent bedtime routines to help children feel secure
* Recording key information and ensuring smooth handovers to the day team
-----------------------------------
What We're Looking For
Nights require patience, resilience, and a gentle, steady presence. We're looking for people who:
* Stay calm under pressure and respond with warmth and professionalism
* Can support non-verbal children using approaches like PECS and Makaton
* Are confident supporting young people with autism, ADHD, epilepsy, Global Development Delay, or sensory needs
* Can provide personal care with dignity and respect
* Bring energy, compassion, and a positive attitude - the children are very active even at night
* Are comfortable with challenging behaviour and know how to respond safely
Experience in residential care or learning disabilities is highly desirable.
