Job Description Summary: The Electronic Hardware Engineer is the engineering design authority for assigned aviation products. This leadership development role is within the sustaining engineering team and has technical responsibility for aerospace electronics and primary and secondary power distribution products throughout their lifecycle. Responsibilities include design authority, ownership of technical issues, through‑life design support, product improvement, lessons learned, and management of small projects.
Responsibilities
* Provide post‑design support of engineering issues, establishing root cause analysis and process improvements.
* Manage obsolescence issues, including redesign, risk analysis, cost, last‑time‑buy, documentation configuration and customer approval.
* Ensure adherence to CCDs.
* Approve corrective actions and non‑conformances.
* Liaise between customers, suppliers, and internal departments.
* Manage certification, re‑qualification, and re‑verification activities.
* Communicate progress reports at all levels.
* Identify, develop, and implement continual improvement practices, incorporating lessons learned into design teams.
* Support customer returns with detailed root cause analysis and investigation.
* Support supply chain design engineering.
* Accountable for cost analysis and improvement recommendations with PSE.
* Track obsolescence and manage small obsolescence updates.
Qualifications
* Bachelor's degree in a relevant field or equivalent experience.
* Extensive knowledge of electronic product systems engineering, analogue/digital electronics, or mechanical engineering design.
* Working knowledge of product design lifecycle, qualification, and verification methods.
* Experience in engineering management or a leadership role with direct people management responsibility.
* Proven analytical and organizational ability.
