The Accountancy Lecturer will contribute to the delivery and leadership of AAT and professional accountancy programmes. This includes lesson preparation, classroom management, curriculum development, assessment, and supporting learner progression. The role will ensure learners achieve their learning goals, are assessed effectively, and are well-prepared for future professional opportunities.
Key Responsibilities
* Deliver high-quality teaching and learning across AAT and accountancy programmes.
* Prepare engaging lessons, teaching resources, and learning materials.
* Manage classroom activities and maintain a supportive and inclusive learning environment.
* Contribute to curriculum development, programme planning, and course evaluation.
* Use appropriate assessment methods and record learner progress accurately.
* Provide academic and pastoral support to learners to maximise achievement.
* Contribute to the marketing, promotion, and growth of AAT and professional accountancy courses.
* Maintain professional knowledge of developments in accountancy and teaching practice.
* Collaborate with colleagues, employers, and professional bodies to enhance course delivery.
Person Specification
Essential
* Professional Accountancy qualification (AAT, ACCA, CIMA, ICAEW or equivalent).
* Teaching qualification or willingness to work towards one.
* Experience in teaching or training within accountancy or a related field.
* Strong communication, presentation, and organisational skills.
* Commitment to learner success and continuous professional development.
Desirable
* Previous teaching experience in Further Education (FE) or Higher Education (HE) with AAT or professional programmes.
* Experience in curriculum design and course leadership.
* Knowledge of current developments in accountancy standards and education.
* Ability to contribute to course marketing and business engagement.
